Please make sure you pick from one side so that the money goes to the correct farm. Best time to pick is last week in July/first week in August, although we had better berries/more to pick from the first week in August (2014). Summer 2016 was so hot that the berries ripened two weeks early. Keep an eye on the weather.
Blackberries & Raspberries
Seasonal Picking: Late June - Early July
Plumtree, North Carolina 28664
Blackberries and Raspberries are usually ready by mid-July.
Berries may be harvested in the wild. Blue Ridge Parkway visitors may pick one gallon per person per day. Our favorite berry picking trails are:
Fodder Stack Trail (BRP MP 241.0)
Green Knob Trail (BRP MP 295.9)
Boone Fork Trail (BRP MP 296.5) TIP: From the trailhead, go straight to reach the berries quicker!
Craggy Gardens (BRP MP 364.2)
Late June and the month of July are likely the best months for picking.
