The High Country Half Marathon is the second race in the High Country Triple Crown series. The course starts on ASU’s campus and follows a picturesque 13.1 miles along Winkler’s Creek and Shull’s Mill. The race ends with a two-mile downhill stretch taking in the most spectacular views in North Carolina. All participants will enjoy the post-race celebration in Davant Park with live music and refreshments provided by local breweries and restaurants.
For people entertaining the idea of running the Grandfather Marathon, this race follows most of the first half of that race. Participants registered by August 1 are guaranteed a shirt and reduced registration fees of $65. After August 1 registration fees increase to $75. Awards for the High Country Half Marathon include first, second and third places in ten age categories in addition to overall awards in both the adult and grandmaster (age 50+) categories.
All finishers will receive Half Marathon Finishers medals. Runners who complete all three races in the Triple Crown are eligible for $1500 in cash awards as well as special prizes and a discounted registration fee of $110 for all three races.
